Our remote working community
During the winter, you’ll meet a mix of remote workers, freelancers, entrepreneurs, creatives, surfers, and travellers who choose to stay for longer and make Ericeira their temporary home.
With everyone staying for at least 28 nights, the atmosphere is naturally more connected. You’re not just passing through, you have time to get to know people, share a surf, grab a coffee, cook dinner together, or simply work side by side.
Some days are social, some are quiet. Some people come for the surf, others for the work, and many for a bit of both.

Our Coworking Space
Most guests will be working from their laptops, and the house offers different spaces depending on how you like to work. Settle into the shared lounge, work outside when the weather is good, or use the desk in your room when you need some quiet and privacy.
The common areas are there when you want a more social atmosphere — a place to work alongside others, take a break, have a coffee, or exchange ideas. When you need to focus, your private room gives you your own space to get things done.
And you’re not limited to the house. Several work-friendly cafés and coworking spaces are just a 5–10 minute walk away in Ericeira, giving you plenty of options for a change of scenery.
During winter, Ericeira also has a lively international surfing community, so the town itself becomes part of the experience — work during the day, surf when the conditions are right, and enjoy the community after hours.

At Chill in Ericeira, surfing is part of everyday life.
Our own Surf School runs daily sessions, with lessons and coaching for beginners, intermediates, and more experienced surfers looking to improve their technique and make the most of the local waves.
Whether it’s your first time standing on a board or you’re chasing better turns and bigger waves, our team can help you find the right spot and session for your level.
And because you’re staying for a month or more, you have something short-term visitors don’t: time to actually progress. Learn the basics, build confidence, discover different breaks, and become part of Ericeira’s surf community.
How to get here
Getting to Chill in Ericeira is easy. Ericeira is around 45 minutes from Lisbon Airport, and we can arrange an airport transfer directly to the house. If you’d like us to organize your transfer, simply send us your phone number, flight number, and arrival time, and we’ll take care of the rest. Airport transfer prices: €55 per ride for a car for up to 3 passengers €90 per ride for a van for 4–8 passengers Travelling with surfboards? Please let us know in advance, as an additional van fee may apply.

What's the minimum stay?
The minimum stay is 20 nights. We’re focusing on longer stays so guests have time to settle in, become part of the community, and really experience Ericeira.
Is this a traditional hostel?
Not during the winter. We transform Chill in Ericeira into a long-stay co-working and co-living space for people who want to work remotely, surf, and enjoy life in Ericeira.
Do I need to work remotely to stay?
Most of our guests will be working remotely, so the house is designed around a work-friendly lifestyle. If you’re taking a longer break or working on a personal project, you’re welcome too.
Where can I work?
You can work from the indoor or outdoor common lounge, or from a desk in your private room. There are also several work-friendly cafés and coworking spaces within a 5–10 minute walk.
Is breakfast included?
No. During the winter long-stay season, breakfast is not included. This gives guests the freedom to follow their own routine and enjoy the many cafés, bakeries, and restaurants around Ericeira.
How far is everything from the house?
Town center is at a 5 min walking distance.
