Excellent surf, a variety of world-class breaks with fewer people out than most other places. This is why you buy a ticket to Senegal. Ngor Right is the most consistent wave in West Africa, and we are the closest place to stay to ensure you never miss a swell.

Coliving with us in Dakar

coliving pool chilling
ngor right
One-minute walk to the Ngor right break, world-famous from the surf movie classic Endless Summer, you find our Coworksurf in Senegal. An amazing surf house with a swimming pool, located on a tiny and very chill island, a short boat trip from the vibrant city of Dacar.

Besides the Ngor right spot, you also have several other world-class waves breaking off the island. Within a 15-minute boat or car ride, there are about 20 highly consistent uncrowded spots.

Included in your stay is surf guiding and drop off at the peaks, so you can make the most of this surf paradise.

Needless to say, this is an amazing spot, and the focus of this Coworksurf location is surfing.

Our remote working community

Regardless of if you're a solo remote worker, a couple, or a bunch of friends, this is a great place to meet and get to know other people. The delicious communal breakfasts and dinners are very social and it will be easy for you to make friends instantly.

Join up for amazing surf trips to the surrounding breaks, or team up and head away on epic overnight surf chasing safaris during your off-work days.

To recover your muscles from all the surfing, we recommend joining for some yoga up on the roof-top. Enjoy the yoga class with an amazing 360 view of all the waves surrounding Ngor, and not to forget, a view of the stunning sunsets.

Our Coworking Space

Here you'll find both inside and outside areas where remote working can be done in a quiet and relaxing environment. Inside you have pillow couches with a low coffee table, ideal for a more 'lazy' work position. Outside, the garden has several large tables and benches in the shade, providing a more traditional 'desk' set-up. The garden has proved a popular place to work from as the direct ocean views and quiet surroundings promote concentration and productivity.

The Wi-Fi is more than sufficient for video conferencing and downloading files. However, many remote workers at the surf camp choose to buy a cheap 4G data package on a local sim card. This way they make sure they're covered if their connectivity needs exceed what the camp Wi-Fi is able to provide.

It is important to note that the island is entirely solar-powered, meaning that all charging for laptops and mobile phones is done at the dedicated charging station in the living room. Electronic devices cannot be charged in your room. This is not something to be alarmed about, people quickly adapt to the logistics.

Finally, while the workspaces described above have been popular with plenty of remote workers, they are shared spaces, and other surf camp guests may hang out in those areas without doing any remote work.

The Surf near Dakar, Senegal

Since Dakar is located on the most western point of Africa, the peninsula gets swell from the west, south, and north, meaning there are a lot of pumping waves coming in. The swell window is potentially the largest in Africa, and consistent the whole year. While the waves in Europe usually can be quite small during the European summer, its still swell season here.

Surrounding Ngor Island there are 20 different surf spots. Every day at the camp we check the conditions and run surf trips to the best spots throughout the day. So once you're finished with the workday, you can enjoy a 4x4 or boat drop-off, right at the peak.

Since the waves around Dakar mainly break over reefs, this may not be the best Coworksurf location for complete beginners. But if you already got some surf skills, and are looking for a wave paradise where you can get some work done. This is the place for you.

Reviews

Jon Stever

I spent an incredibly nourishing 6 weeks at the surf camp, remote working, surfing, centering. I will return. I couldn't recommend it higher. The island is unique, a short boat ride (swim and/or SUP trip) to the dynamic and artistic capital, yet you live in the peaceful quiet of a traditional village without cars or roads, surrounded by the Atlantic ocean on the western-most tip of the continent, with an excellent left and right reef/point on your doorstep. The camp is at once elegant, simple, off-grid. The staff are wonderful, kind, attentive, human. Shared dinners are beautiful moments to reflect on the day, and connect with Pierre and the enchanting characters attracted to this special place. You're invited to be yourself, to opt in and out of surfing and cultural activities throughout the days, to be incredibly social or to disappear into your work or private meditation on the roof terrace.
