Coliving with us in Cap Skirring

Tucked into a quiet corner of Cap Skirring, Keur Racine offers a calm, leafy base just a short walk from the miles upon miles of sandy beach. In this charming guesthouse, you'll stay in a spacious, comfortable room with access to a balcony or a small outdoor sitting area as well as a cozy communal area.

While the shared kitchen gives you space to prepare your own meals, the lounge area and garden are perfect for relaxing with a coffee or unwinding in the shade. It’s a peaceful little setup, ideal for slow mornings, remote work days, and afternoons that flow with the laid-back rhythm of Casamance into evenings.

If you’re looking for a place that feels homely, restful, and close to the beach, Keur Racine will fit smoothly into your life as a remote-working surfer on the Casamance Coast of Senegal.

Our remote working community

Staying at Keur Racine you're welcome into a warm, easygoing atmosphere that makes connecting with others feel simple and natural. The shared kitchen, lounge, and outdoor areas naturally create small pockets of community, the kind of spaces where people cook together, share tips about the area, or end up chatting over morning coffee before diving into work or heading out for the day.

The calm environment and friendly energy make it easy to feel at home, whether you’re staying for a few days or settling into a longer remote-work trip.

And what really makes the house special is the way you’re looked after. Ousmane and the team are known for going above and beyond, from organising Casamance excursions and airport pickups to impromptu rooftop BBQs, shared breakfasts, and nights out at the local bar.

When you are not working or if the waves are not delivering, there are also so many excursions to do; local villages, mangroves, fishing, tribes, and beautiful islands to visit.

Our Coworking Space

Keur Racine offers reliable Wi-Fi throughout the house and even a backup battery for the wifi to keep you covered. In case of a short but possible outage that can happen when you are far from a bustling city in the lush African countryside. Staying here, there is no need to worry about anything affecting your work. Since the owners are remote workers themselves, they have the place kitted out for it.

Each room is equipped with a small but functional desk or table space. When you feel like working outside, the garden, terrace, and outdoor dining areas give you plenty of open-air places to set up with your laptop and ease into the day.

The quiet residential surroundings help you stay focused, and with the beach only a few minutes away, it’s easy to break up your workday with quick dips or a reset stroll along the sand. This is the kind of place where work naturally finds its balance with slow tropical living.

The Surf near Cap Skirring, Senegal

Cap Skirring lies on the southern Casamance coast of Senegal, where wide sandy beaches meet warm Atlantic waters and a laid-back, natural coastline.

The surf here leans toward mellow, friendly waves, ideal for anyone who appreciates easygoing conditions. For complete beginners, there are heaps of whitewater. Meaning this is a great place to learn surfing.

Although very beginner-friendly, this doesn't mean that there can't be any punch in the waves. If the swell is heading in the right direction, you'll definitely be able to score some punchy overhead waves down at the point. And at one section of the wave, it's even barrelling. This is also a really long wave; if you manage to connect it all the way, a plus one-minute ride is not uncommon.

However, waves won’t roar every day here, Cap Skirring is known for being a bit inconsistent. But when it's not working, there are plenty of excursions and an amazing natural beauty that will make the trip worthwhile.

Because the coastline isn’t crowded or heavily developed, there’s a real chance you’ll have long stretches of beach and ocean practically to yourself.

Water stays warm year-round, often sitting comfortably in the mid-20s °C, so you can paddle out in boardshorts or a light shorty, no thick wetsuit required, even outside peak season.

Although the beach is just a few hundred meters away from Keur Racine, the best waves are at the point, a 25-minute walk along the beach or a short and very affordable taxi ride away. At the point, there are also board rental and surf schools.

If you’re chasing a balance of work, relaxed beach time, and the quiet thrill of uncrowded waves, this corner of Senegal delivers exactly that kind of surf rhythm. And if you happen to be in Dakar, this is the spot to head to if a big swell is making its way towards the coast.

How to get here

Fly, take the ferry, or the bus from Dakar to Cap Skirring or Ziguinchor, and continue to the guesthouse with a taxi. If needed we're happy to helo you organize the taxi =)
