While traveling and working remotely I dreamt of a place to live, work, and play by the ocean, only to realize I already had it back home. This place has always been my beach haven where I gather family and friends to soak up the sun and the sea, surf and relax. I'm inviting you to join me in my family home.

At Manas we strive to offer a unique place where guests live, work, and play by the ocean. A place where you get inspired by the environment, social interactions, and shared experiences.
The living space consists of 6 cozy bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a dedicated co-working space, and plenty of common areas where you can work, relax, socialize, and create.

The house offers a common dining room with a large table and views of the ocean. A healthy and delicious breakfast here is the best way to start the day, and a house crew after surf dinner is a great way to round it off.

If needed, you can also use the dining room for work and to hold meetings.

The small office with ocean views is perfect for your private calls or if you need some special time to focus. Please remember to book this space in advance to make sure it is available when you need it.

Our cozy living room is a great place to socialize, read or relax. Take advantage of the fireplace on one of those chillier off-season nights, set up the projector for a movie night, or bring out the board games for a fun evening in.

Always with high-speed internet available from every corner of the house.

Our remote working community

“Mana” is an informal word for sister in Portuguese, and there is a reason why we decided to call our coliving Manas Coliving.

The coliving building was built in the 50s by our grandparents, and me and my sister were incredibly lucky to grow up in this unbelievable place, with year-round surfing, delicious food, and breathtaking landscapes. Growing up, we took every opportunity to share this privilege with friends. Now, we want more “manas” to join the fun, and still, that it continues to feel like a home.

At Manas, we believe that the most important part of a coliving is its community. When a group of people from different cultures and paths of life, but with similar mind frames live together for an extended period of time, a special type of atmosphere gets created.

What we like this atmosphere to be about is the "manas" spirit of sisterhood and freedom. Manas take good care of themselves and supports each other to reach their goals, while at the same time realizing that life is too short not to enjoy it to the fullest.

Our Coworking Space

Regardless of how you prefer to get your work done, we have a workspace for you. Join the coworking table in the dedicated coworking room, or have a more relaxed workday from one of the different couches in the house.

If you need a private space, there is also a small office with ocean views.
Our favorite way of finishing off the work day? On the balcony, as the sun slowly makes its way down into the blue Atlantic.

The Surf near Alentejo, Portugal

The beautiful coastal area around Sines provides an ideal setting for different kinds of water-based activities, yet surfing holds a unique significance for us.

This region of Portugal boasts some of the most uncrowded surf spots in the country. Regardless of if you're a beginner or advanced, there are several surf spots within a 30-minute drive from the coliving.

If needed, we're happy to help out with surf rental gear, and classes, or to arrange local guides who can show you the best breaks Alentejo has to offer.

I had an excellent experience at Manas Coliving in Sines. The private rooms are well-decorated, and the shared spaces are great for relaxing (fireplace) and coworking. The atmosphere in the house is super laid back, and Inês, the host, is incredibly friendly and helpful. She welcomed me like an old friend and invited me to multiple dinners and wine bar drinks with her friends, as well as to go surfing together. The surf spots nearby (Sao Torpes) are fantastic. Sines is a lovely town with everything you need within walking distance. If you're looking for a place to work and relax/surf/enjoy yourself in Portugal, look no further!
