Coliving with us in Ahangama

Located in the south of Sri Lanka at the heart of Kalabana, Ahangama you find Mellow. A digital nomad-friendly hostel and coliving. A place to feel at home. On the front yard of Mellow you have the Rock surf spot, one of the most classic A-frame waves on the island.

Staying with us you can enjoy an abundance of rich culture, the rainforest, the desert, and of course, the mellow waves that Sri Lanka has to offer. At Mellow find what's so common to find in Sri Lanka as a whole—a connection to the people, the earth, and the ocean.

We bring together a like minded remote working community that shares the joy of riding waves, meditating, practicing yoga, trying new things and embracing the life. Come join us in this beautiful place! Friends, new or old, are all welcome here.

Our Coworking Space

At Mellow we have a brand new dedicated coworking space and a high-speed fiber internet of up to 90mbps. To make sure there is always a stable connection we also have a power generator specifically for the internet.

Besides the Coworking space, spread around our place we have lots of international outlets and quiet places where you can set up your workstation for the day. And of course an endless amount of free-flowing coffee.

Sri Lanka’s coastline offers a wide variety of surf, making it accessible to surfers of all abilities. Come and join us to surf in warm water under the sun, surrounded by palm trees and good people.

If you're interested in coaching, our surf coaches are ISA qualified, offering high end instruction and coaching, working in low ratio sessions specifically suited for individual surfing abilities. Before you come and join us please let us know which level you’re at to help us give you the best possible coaching.

Surf Guiding:
Are you a free surfer looking to explore the spots and surf the best waves on offer?
Combining local knowledge with experience, our surf guides will select the best waves suited for your ability and wave preference. Sessions are 1-2 hours with board hire and Tuk Tuk ride included if necessary.

I was staying at mellow hostel for one year. During this year I also spent 3 long curfew periods here. It was amazing time I spent on the island. Ranga is the best manager I’ve ever met. He helped to get all our needs and always was kind and friendly. I was working remotely at my room. There wasn’t enough light inside for the streaming. From the very beginning Ranga provided additional light bulbs and helped with good WiFi connection. I had WiFi, personal bathroom, AC, room cleaning from lovely Ganeesha, drinking water, kitchen for cooking, washing mashing, etc. Everything at the property was clean due to Ganeesha’s work. We were like a family with stuff and other guests. We cooked together, shared the recipes of our national dishes with each other, organized the parties with all mellow family and had a lot of fun. Highly recommend this place to stay.
