I'm a former employee in the financial IT sector and, after years of working a desk job for a living, I decided to gain my own entrepreneurial experience by running a surf house in the beautiful Spanish coast of Asturias. I have a great passion for sport, nature and an active lifestyle that I tried to reflect in a cozy and charming house with a strong surf vibe.

Are you looking for a co-working place in the north of Spain where you can meet like-minded people, hang out with them and of course do lots of surfing, yoga and much more? Then you've come to the right place!
Our small, family-run surf house is located in a small village in Asturias called San Juan de la Arena, surrounded by wild and breathtaking beaches, a calm estuary and green mountains right on the beach, where you can enjoy nature to the fullest!
Our cozy house is an old, renovated villa from the Indiano period, which has been furnished with great attention to detail and where you can choose between private rooms and shared dormitories. We also have a dedicated co-working space and several common spaces where you can chill and enjoy the best vibes!
In the morning we offer a varied breakfast buffet in the house and also homemade meals if you fancy try some of our specialties.

Throughout the years we have built up a community of people that feel a special connection with the sea and nature. Surfers, digital nomads, and travelers. People from all over the world with whom we have shared our passion for surfing, slow life and warming conversations that are kept in a special place in our heart. We love to hear that they all consider COCOS their home away from home, and it is everytime more usual that people decide on the go to stay a bit longer than planned.
The villa has a friendly and laid-back atmosphere, with a social but not overwhelming vibe, since you can decide to spend some time with the rest of the guests in the common spaces (living room, chill out, garden) or take some self-time in your bedroom.
It is located in a very quiet village in front of an estuary and at barely 15 min walking to the closest beach, so you can easily go for a surf in the afternoon or have a SUP route on the river.
We also organize yoga and surfskate lessons, horse-riding routes, surf trips to the local spots, movie-nights, hikes and barbecue nights on the weekends.

Our Coworking Space
We count on a Coworking space with capacity for 10 people, as well as several common areas with large sofas (both indoor and outdoors) where you'll feel super confortable to work with your laptop in a laidback atmosphere. WiFi speed is 1Gbps and reaches all corners in the house, including the bedrooms and the chill our area in our backyard.

The Surf near Asturias, Spain
We offer two-hour surf lessons with professional surf instructors every day where you will learn some basic surfing theory and, depending on your level, the lessons will be adapted for beginners, intermediate or advanced surfers.
You will be taken to the surf spot together and divided into different groups on the beach. Every day we go to a different beach depending on the wave forecast, weather conditions and group size so that we always find the best surfable spot :)
Whether it's your first time surfing or you've already caught a few waves, you'll have a great time in the water! If you are surfing for the first time, you will first get an introductory session where you will learn the basics of surfing:
- Basic surf safety
- Basic theory about surfing, such as parts of the board, types of wetsuits and specific weather and wave conditions
- Dry warm-up on the beach and exercises for standing up on the board and basic paddling
- Once in the water, practicing pop-up technique, paddling and catching your first whitewater waves
If you are an advanced surfer, our surf instructors will take you to the line-up and work on it with you:
- Riding waves effectively
- Read the wave correctly and choose the right moment to paddle
- Surfing waves sideways
- The first maneuvers, such as cutbacks or carving turns
The surf equipment is included in the price and if you still have some energy left after the lesson, you can continue surfing on your own in the afternoon and use the equipment for free :)
In case you want to bring your own equipment, we have safe spaces where you can store and dry your stuff.
Also, if you are only interested in renting the equipment, we also offer special prices for our guests.

How to get here
The best way to get to us is by plane, as OVD airport is only 10 minutes away from the surf house. The train stations in Avilés, Gijon or Oviedo are also suitable if you are traveling from another location in Spain.
