The Bus Office

What is it?

We realised that we could not get the best views in the world from one fixed building, so we created a mobile office that allowed us to rock up to the sweetest most scenic spots depending on what the surf was doing. That way we could allow individuals or teams of people to work in amazing locations and then when the waves looked primo they could switch off their skype calls grab a board and run down for a surf. Then they could come right back shower off a little, grab a fresh coffee and get back to work.

Why a coworking bus?

Why not? We found it so hard to get awesome comfortable spots to work with amazing views. Why miss out on waves whilst you’re working? We like the flexibility of being able to move and surround ourselves in nature or park up next to a fun event depending on what was happening or what our clients wanted to do.
Fancy working parked up a mountain with your full team? Or maybe by a lake? We can do that although we prefer beaches ;)

Where did we get it from?

It used to transport factory workers in the North of Portugal to a lingerie factory. It’s a Toyota customized by Caetano a Portuguese company.

What can it do?

Just quickly it can’t transport people. To make it into the most flexible custom office layouts and keep it safe there was no way to keep the passenger capability intact. Don’t worry we can arrange transport to and from wherever it’s parked.

It can accommodate up to 15 people working on the bus and a few more outside
It can be totally off-grid with a huge solar system and battery pack

It has comfortable ergonomic and adjustable work chairs and desks with plenty of power outputs
It can be tethered into a fixed fiber connection or extended wifi router
It can also run off multiple mobile 4G dongles so there is no need to be near a fixed wifi connection
There’s  a comfy couch in the back if you fancy a more chilled work set up or just want to sip on a coffee and watch the waves
It has a coffee machine, mini fridge kitchen & sink.
It can park up next to your teams hotel or villa and provide the ultimate mobile office

How can we set it up for work?

There's 3 main layouts it works in

  1. Working facing the waves. Side tables fold up so you can work facing whatever you like with comfortable office chairs.
  2. Presentation mode. The desks fold down, chairs spin around and a screen folds down at the front of the bus where the driver would sit allowing presentations to happen via projector.
  3. Board room meeting. The side desks fold down and a beautiful board room meeting table folds out of the floor. Allowing for the perfect environment for board room meetings or a game of poker. Whatever takes your fancy.

What's planned for the inside/design vibe?

Our friend Tiene has made a lovely little mood board for us. Incorporating some Portuguese elements like tiles and cork.

Who’s been helping us?

On electrics our lovely qualified electrician Timothy Swann from MESH Algarve. Keeping those circuits both live and safe.
On graphic design and interior inspiration we’ve had our original brand builder Tiene Devos.

When will it be ready?
