Coliving with us in Florianopolis

In a lush tropical green garden with direct access to one of the prettiest beaches and surf spots on the whole island of Florianopolis, you find The Search House. The perfect place to get your work done while exploring the beauty of Florianopolis and surfing amazing waves.
For an in-between work surf session, just follow our bamboo-lined path. Past the inhouse bar, swimming pool, and yoga area, and you'll step out on the white sand of Barra da Lagoa.
Our backyard is a 14km amazing beach.
Once you´re back from the surf and ready to stock up on carbs, we have a big and well-equipped communal kitchen. If you're too hungry to cook up a feist, no worries, we also have a small but amazing restaurant with drinks and tasty food. We've heard the burger comes especially recommended ;)

Our remote working community

Skateboarding, poolside chilling, ping pong, table foosball, or just lounging on the beach and surfing. At the search house there are loads of activities to take part in, and plenty of other travelers and remote workers who want to get to know the other people around.
Since we have a big garden, there are also lots of space where you can get some quiet time and space just for yourself, if that's your mode for the day.
Throughout the season we throw lots of events such as traditional Brazilian BBQs and live concerts in our garden. If you want to venture out and explore Florianopolis, we are located next to the hub of Lagoa de Da Conceição, with plenty of stuff going on - small supermarkets, cafes, bars, nightclubs, and incredibly fresh seafood restaurants.

Last year we made some changes around the villa. The aim was to create a space where you could work closer to nature, in peace, with comfortable surroundings and good vibes. Now we are super glad to be able to provide all our guests with this. A safe setting to work from, alongside the chance to enjoy life to the fullest.
Here you have lots of cozy spots where you can set up your laptop. Get your work done at our cowork table with a pool view, or maybe just at one of our tables out in the garden next to the pool.
If you're in really chill work mode, we highly recommend having your office for the day in one of our hammocks overlooking the beach.

The Surf near Florianopolis, Brazil

With a wide variety of amazing beaches, consistent swell, and less crowded than the beaches in Rio, Florianopolis is a surf Mecca. Within the small island there are up to 20 different spots to explore.
If you're looking for the biggest waves and most consistent surf, winter is the best time to visit. But there really are waves all throughout the year.
When it comes to the surf nearby The Search House, you don't have to walk very far. As you step out at the back of the villa, you walk straight onto the beach and surf break of Barra da Lagoa.
Since the swells hitting Florianopolis generally come more from the south, Barra is a bit more protected than the southern facing beaches. This makes it an ideal spot for beginner surfers. Not to say that there are no waves for intermediate surfers, if it's on, it's on in Barra.
If you continue walking a bit further up you also come to the more exposed breaks of Praia Mocambique, where the waves can reach up to 3 m on a pumping day.
Want to explore more? just jump in an uber for a 10 min drive and you end up at The Mole, considered one of the best spots on the island. 10 min more and you reach the Joaquina beach, famous for the WCT and WQS surf tour competitions.
If needed there are several board rentals and surf schools within a very short walking distance.
