Our remote working community
The work-life balance is really good in Bocas del Toro and the community is amazing. People do come here to enjoy themselves and have a good time but people also know Selena is a great place to live and stay when they want to get work done as well.
One thing most nomads and remote workers love about working remotely here in Bocas del Toro is how accessible everything is. You can get some work done in the morning and then for lunch you can head over to La Neta Caribe with some friends and grab some food.
Even though it has that small island feel there are still cafes and our coworking space where you get work done. After work, there are plenty of restaurants and bars to hang out at with all the other remote workers.
It’s a small place but the community here is strong and there’s nothing better than being in a new place surrounded by other nomads and like-minded people!
Our Coworking Space
With unlimited coffee, high-speed internet, and comfy chairs this is a nice spot to work for anyone. With a chilled office vibe, there’s room to chat and network with other remote workers and also private rooms for when you need to have a meeting.
Whatever your remote-style setup looks like we’ll do our best to accommodate it!
The Surf near Bocas Del Toro, Panama
What sets Bocas del Toro apart when it comes to surfing is that there are more than 10 premiere waves within a short boat ride from the center of the island. The options are really endless and for the surfer who wants to ride it all, this is the place.
You have Bluff Beach which is a short 15-minute boat ride from Selena and this is where you’ll find one of the most famous breaks close to the island. Pros drool over this heavy wave that creates some wicked tubes!
For everyone else who's trying to really keep it chill and go with the Caribbean vibe then Old Mans and Black Rock are two awesome beginner spots that have perfect mini-point breaks and good whitewash to really get the hang of surfing in the Caribbean.

How to get here
By Public transport It’s not the shortest journey but we recommend taking the 10-hour bus ride from Albrook Terminal in Panama City to Almirante. Almirante is the closest place in mainland Panama to Isla Colon. From Almirante, you can cruise on a water taxi until you’re finally at Selena in Bocas del Toro on the Isle of Colon. The trip costs roughly $33 in total. The bus from Panama City to Almirante is $27 and the boat taxi from Almirante to the Isle of Colon is $6. From the airport Once you’re in Panama city, you can fly domestically from Albrook Airport (Panama City) directly to Bocas del Toro with Air Panama. The closest airport to Selina Bocas del Toro is actually only a few minutes' walk from the coliving. So within a few minutes of leaving the airport, you’ll be at Selena!
